Construction Materials Site Technician
As a Materials Testing Site Technician, you’ll undertake the testing of soils, aggregates, bituminous materials and concrete. To produce test results in accordance with documented procedures, standards and specifications. ETL provides a comprehensive range of on-site construction materials testing throughout the UK. We are looking for all levels of Materials Testing Site Technicians from beginners to experienced personnel to join our team.
The role involves significant physical activity including manual handling of samples up to 20kgs, as well as working outdoors on construction sites in all weather. Full training is provided including shadowing an experienced technician. You may be asked to stay away occasionally (hotel accommodation and meals paid for) we pay excellent overtime rates and stay away allowances.
Skills required:
- Right to work in the UK
- Full UK Driving License
- CSCS Card – advantageous but not essential (we will arrange and pay for test and card as needed)
- Self-motivated and able to organise your workload
- Health & safety focused
- Confident with numbers/maths
- Accuracy and consistency in record keeping
- Confident working alone as well as part of a team
- Confident dealing with clients
- Good with early starts

Construction Materials Laboratory Technician
We are looking for a laboratory technician (construction) to work from our state-of-the-art laboratory in Doncaster. This role is working within a team of people supporting the laboratory manager. All on-the-job training will be given. The role involves physical activity including the manual handling of samples up to 20kgs.
Responsibilities will include:
- To produce test results in accordance with our procedures, standards and specification
- Physical testing of construction materials
- To ensure that the laboratory working areas are safe and clean environments in which to work.
- Preparation of materials for laboratory testing
- To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
- To carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in-house procedures, in an expeditious manner.
- To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.
